چکیده

The exploration of emerging materials physics and prospective applications of two-dimensional materials greatly relies on the growth control of their thickness, phases, morphologies, and film−substrate interactions. Though substantial progress has been made for the development of twodimensional films from conventional layered bulky materials, particular challenges remain for obtaining ultrathin, single crystalline, dislocation-free films from intrinsically non-van der Waals-type three-dimensional materials. In this report, with the successful demonstration of single crystalline ultrathin large-scale perovskite halide material, we reveal and identify the favorable role of weak van der Waals film−substrate interaction on the nucleation and growth of the two-dimensional morphology out of nonlayered materials compared to conventional epitaxy. We also show how the bonding nature of the three-dimensional material itself affects the kinetic energy landscape of ultrathin film growth. By studying the formation of fractal perovskites assisted with Monte Carlo simulations, we demonstrate that the competition between the van der Waals diffusion and surface free energy of the perovskite leads to film thickening, suggesting that extra strategies such as surface passivation may be needed for the growth of monolayer and few-layer films.

ONE-DIMENSIONAL TREATMENT OF HYDROGEN BOND PART1 THE CASE OF THE LINEAR HYDROGENBOND

The one-dimensional model of Lippincott and Schroeder for hydrogen bond has Been re-examined and it has been shown that O-H bond distance depends on repulsive van der Waals and attractive electrostatic potentials.it has been shown that constant b in the van der Waals repulsion potential is not transferable to all hydrogen bonds. The possibility of obtaining the semi-empircal parameters i...

Transcending the slow bimolecular recombination in lead-halide perovskites for electroluminescence

The slow bimolecular recombination that drives three-dimensional lead-halide perovskites' outstanding photovoltaic performance is conversely a fundamental limitation for electroluminescence. Under electroluminescence working conditions with typical charge densities lower than 1015 cm-3, defect-states trapping in three-dimensional perovskites competes effectively with the bimolecular radiative r...

Determination of the Second Virial Coefficient for Binary Mixtures of Ar with CH4 and CO using Van der Waals and Dieterici Models

In this paper, we calculate the second virial coefficient for binary mixtures of Ar with CH4 and CO in order to evaluate the performance of equations of state (EOSs). The investigated EOSs are van der Waals (vdW), Redlich-Kwong (RK), Peng-Robinson (PR), Carnahan-Starling–van der Waals (CS-vdW) and Guggenheim-van der Waals (G-vdW) based on van der Waals model. In our work, we also use Dieterici ...

Introduction of a Novel Two-Dimensional Equation of State to Predict Gas Equilibrium Adsorption in Highly-Nonideal Systems

Abstract The accurate calculations of adsorption equilibrium for multicomponent gas systems are of great importance in many applications. In this paper, five two-dimensional equations of state 2D-EOS, i.e. Van der Waals, Eyring, Zhou-Ghasem-Robinson, Soave-Redlich-Kwong and Peng-Robinson, were examined to find out their abilities to predict adsorption equilibrium for pure and multi-component ga...
